Before Golden oak cabinets, vinyl flooring, soffits, and laminate tops.
Cooktop was in the Island and venting was not adequate. Not enough seating space at the Island snack bar.
Appliances not placed correctly--- if you are at the cook-top, you cannot use the oven or microwave. |
|
|
After Removed the soffits, replaced the window, and moved everything around.
Today... proper hood ventilation, more counter space, seating space is wonderful... and everything flows.
Alder cabinets, Maple flooring, granit tops, and inlaid tile. Right down to the tiniest detail... SCC was proud to build Don and Keri their dream kitchen. |

Before 1970's Kitchen with Dinette.
Please remove the soffits, add new floor, appliances, and beautiful cabinets. Keeping budget, and Feng Shui principles in mind are of the up-most importance in the remodel. |

After Removing the visual block of cabinetry created an uninterrupted flow throughout the space. Positioning the appliances and fixtures to not conflict fire and water, and not blocking the doorway allowed this space to fit the homeowners needs. We added a Mirror set in tile behind the range---- a beautiful effect that creates a wonderful reflection for all to enjoy. |

Before This is Jane's kitchen. A well used 20 plus year old kitchen. This angle shows the peninsula separating the dinette area from the kitchen. A dropped ceiling with lighting was in the kitchen section with lots of wallpaper, vinyl flooring, laminate countertops, Oak cabinetry, and "not enough storage" and what was there was not functional. The photo below shows from the dinette side.
As you can see a soffit separated the two rooms. Above the dinette were large wood exposed beams. The appliances had been replaced just a few years ago however, it really was time to remove the desk, rearrange the layout, and update it to match the owner's personalities.

After WOW... we tore out the beams, and the soffit. Added can lights, new window, new flooring, widened the main doorway. The cabinets are cherry, in a warm brown tone. We added under cabinet lighting, wine refrigerator, double dish drawer, granite tops, and quartz full height backsplash. And, as you can see- the peninsula became an island for just the right amount of work space.

The whole room has such an open feel, everything now is in it's place, and the appliances blend in beautifully. This was a fun project, and the family was fun to work with. While doing the kitchen we raised the "step down" to the living room, removed the "railing wall to 3rd level" replaced the hallway flooring and...
Midway during the kitchen demolition, a decision was made to re-do two bathrooms. This left a family of four to share one bath during construction.
We did a two bathroom full demolition and transformation at the same time as the kitchen remodel. All the while every meal was cooked at home on a hot plate, and Jane did dishes in the laundry tub. Bravo Jane and family!
It really does look beautiful. |

Before Sometimes we are hired for kitchens that are just too small. This was a very nice kitchen to start. The biggest draw back was the wood framed dropped ceiling made it very dated and dark. There was minimal cabinet space and even less countertop. A bearing wall separated the kitchen from the formal dining room, and a beautiful transom window was in the dinette area. The plan: flip the dining room to be where the dinette was. Remove the wall separating the two rooms. |
|
|
After The first on the agenda was the removal of the framed in ceiling. Next add recessed lighting. Then we removed the wall between the kitchen and dining room allowing a re -arrangement of the whole space. Now we have enough room for a center Island with a prep sink, and room for sitting. A few stylish details added just the right amount of pizzazz such as the gourmet faucet in the main sink with a matching arched faucet in the prep area. The backsplash has a tone chosen form one of the colors in the granite (which was a last minute upgrade) - David and Christine; you were a blast to work with- enjoy, enjoy! |

Before This is Tina and Jason's Before Photo. They had just purchased this year 2000 built home. They loved the floor plan however; the kitchen just was not reflective of their style and taste. They wanted a new design in the current space. Since the microwave was not vented to the exterior- that was first on the list. Then we moved it above the oven. This gave a new look over the cooktop. Tina could not wait to change the Oak cabinets and flooring. And Jason wanted Granite countertops. |
|
|
After After Here it is complete! We changed the flooring in the kitchen and adjoining dining and living rooms to a Maple Laminate. The cabinets Tina chose are in Cherry with a soft low sheen finish in a warm stain. We added a diagonal corner cabinet that extends to the counter top - perfect to stash the toaster and coffee pot. The crown moulding is a 3 1/2 ", it exemplifies the different depths of the upper cabinets. Hidden in this photo is a wine refrigerator with a built in wine cabinet, this was a must for Tina. We topped if off with Granite for Jason. (We just could not talk him into changing the refrigerator to a counter depth!) That will be next year- we will change that for you when we do the basement! Thank you Tina and Jason. |

Before This is a 1980 kitchen that was originally designed so the kitchen was small but functional- centered in the middle of a 1000 square foot area. It supports Oak cabinets with the uppers suspended from a hexagon shaped soffit system. It was a small space surrounded by pink carpet and fabulous windows. The plan was for a total re-do for the kitchen and adjoining rooms. |
|
|
After And that is what we did. We added recessed lighting, removed the carpet and changed to a wide plank Jatoba wood flooring. We used a mixture of Maple vintage finished cabinets, added an Alder distressed finish hood and floor to ceiling columns for accents. Special touches for convenience such as the 2 ovens built into the base cabinets, and a double dish drawer. For the countertops we used Granite for the Island with Quartz on the remainder. We finished off with special attention to the detailing of the crown and base trimmings. This was a fun project. The transformation was amazing. We are pleased we were entrusted to do such a special home and can't wait to do the master bath. |
